It's Not Too Late

Life After 60: 47 Steps for What's Possible

Sometimes one thought is enough to change what happens next.

Life after 60 is about much more than managing or simply keeping going. It's Not Too Late is a collection of 47 short reflections on the choices, habits, relationships and possibilities that shape how we live this part of life.

Some may feel immediately familiar. Others may make you stop and think about something you have not considered for a while. Each is designed to create a moment of reflection, spark a conversation or give you a small nudge towards something better.

A book to dip into

You do not need to start at the beginning.

You might choose a step because its title catches your attention, open the book when something in life is making you think, or simply work through the steps gradually.

Each one takes no more than about five minutes to read.

And there are 47 rather than 52 for a reason.

Life after 60 is not a productivity programme.

There should be room to rest, wander, think and let things settle.

Read. Reflect. Step.

Read

Each step explores one idea about living well after 60.

Reflect

At the end, a short Reflect and Step section invites you to consider what the idea means in your own life.

Step

Then there is one small step you can take, if and when it feels useful.

No tick boxes. No need to complete everything. Just something to think about and somewhere small to begin.

Forty-seven different places to start

The 47 steps range across identity, relationships, health, money, purpose, community, the way we use our time and the stories we tell ourselves.

They move between the everyday and the bigger questions, because both matter.

The book includes everything from examining what gives or takes your energy and allowing yourself to rest, to thinking differently about money, community, health, identity and how you want to spend your life.

It's about your life

There is no single version of what life after 60 should look like.

You may be rebuilding, exploring what comes next, maintaining a life that is already working well, or adapting to change.

Some steps will matter now. Others may matter later.

Sometimes noticing one thing differently is enough to begin.

Part of the Living Life Well Model

The 47 steps draw on the ten interconnected themes of the Living Life Well Model, including Self, Narrative, Meaning & Purpose, Health, Finance, Environment, Activities & Interests, Relationships, Community and Planning.

Each step relates to one theme, but a change in one area can affect several others.
